Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel is arranged. After checking into the hotel, there is free time available. Later, assemble in the lobby to start the tour, which includes visits to Highland Park-Alley of Martyrs, the National Assembly (also transliterated as Milli Majlis), and Flame Towers, the tallest skyscrapers in Baku. The tour concludes with a return to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, our tour program begins with a visit to the Old City, the historical core of Baku, Azerbaijan. The Old City, surrounded by well-protected walls, is the oldest part of Baku and was home to about 3000 people in 2007. In December 2000, it became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower. The tour continues with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center, a 57,500 m² building in Baku designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, known for its distinctive, flowing, curved style. The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, former president of Azerbaijan. After a photoshoot outside the center, we will walk through Baku Boulevard, which stretches along a bay on the Caspian Sea, starting at Freedom Square and continuing west to the Old City and beyond. Since 2012, the Yeni Bulvar has nearly doubled its length to 3.75 km. The day ends with a return to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, the tour starts with Ateshgah, the Fire Worshippers Temple. Based on Persian and Indian inscriptions, the temple was used as a Hindu and Zoroastrian place of worship. "Atash" is the Persian word for fire. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetra pillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. Next, visit "Fire Mountain" or "Yanardag," a mountain on the Absheron peninsula, 25 km north of Baku. The word "Yanardag" literally means "Blazing mountain," where blazing bodies of flame dance on stones and the floor. Yanar dag is a natural gas fire that blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, known as the "land of fire." The tour continues with a shopping trip to Ganjlik Mall, located 10 minutes from the city center by taxi. Genclik Mall is the biggest mall in Baku and contains over 80 stores, big bowling halls, the biggest movie halls, 3D cinema, a playground for children, Bravo supermarket, VIP restaurants, and food courts. The day concludes with a return to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, the day begins with a shopping tour at a local sweet shop specializing in Baklava. The tour then continues to Deniz Mall, a 120,000m² entertainment, leisure, and dining destination located on land reclaimed from the Caspian Sea. Deniz Mall, with its unique architectural concept, hosts brands like Casa Culinary Art School of Azerbaijan, Beverly Hills and Chill Box, Big Chef, TGI Friday, Dine Hall, and Kinderland for the first time in Azerbaijan, along with well-known brands such as Starbucks, Nike, Swarovski, Pandora, Paul, Go Sport, Alma Store, LVIV Handmade Chocolate, and Cinema Plus. Later, the group will experience Nizami Street, a vibrant shopping street in Baku's downtown. The street, with a history tracing back to Baku's 1864 town-planning project, runs from Abdulla Shaig Street in the mountainous part of the city to the railroad bed on Sabit Orujov Street, near a monument to Shah Ismail Khatai in "Black City."
After breakfast at the hotel, the day continues with a departure to the airport for the return flight.
